In the Western and Korean versions of Life, it's unlocked at the same time as the Island Ranking on the Rankings Board, and is used to order the islands on that ranking. In Collection and the Japanese version of Life, it's already unlocked at the start of the game, and located on the island info board( Collection)/office( Life). The Quality of Life is a number given to the island in Tomodachi Collection and Tomodachi Life used to generally describe how many luxuries it has to offer the Miis. Isle and Ocean names will always use the name of a food item.Ī news report announcing the introduction of Quality of Life. Everything is randomly generated besides the island name. The island address consists of the island name, a 5 or 6 digit number code, an isle name, and an ocean name. Clothes and hats received through StreetPass and/or SpotPass will display the name of the island they came from (usually Nintendo Island in SpotPass) and will be able for purchase in Import Wear. Travelers received though StreetPass will state the name of their original island. Its purpose is to make the island unique and recognizable, so as to distinguish it from other islands found in StreetPass. The island address is a feature exclusive to Tomodachi Life. In Tomodachi Life, the overworld map's soundtrack changes to a Christmas-esque version of the theme for December, for all times of the day (except for the Japanese version which start on the 24th and ends on the 26th). These Miis can be put in the game through transferring them from a Wii in Tomodachi Collection, making them from scratch in both games (through Mii Maker), or using ones made on a Nintendo 3DS system and scanning QR codes in Tomodachi Life. Said island is entirely inhabited by Miis that the player is supposed to take care of. The player can name their island upon starting the game, but can rename it later in Tomodachi Life. In Collection there is only one main island, but in Life there is an additional small side island to the right of the mainland to accommodate the new locations added. You leave it out and the island falls into disrepair and then you see it a few months or years later and boot it up to see all your Miis starved and sad and play it until it gets boring again or until you reset your save. The island is the main location in Tomodachi Collection and Tomodachi Life. After a certain point, it becomes boring to the point of not being able to play the game. After that you can introduce your new child Mii, a mixture of the parent Miis, very simple representation of genetics and mutation, if you have less than the max of 100 Miis in your island to the island as a Mii or as a traveler going around other islands via StreetPass and coming back to your island with cool new items, clothes and food! However the game starts to get boring after you've seen everything, which is all the dialogues, the minigames, reached 100 Miis, got Miis married, traveled to different islands and got tons of StreetPass and SpotPass stuff. These Miis will eventually have a kid, this kid will take a few days to grow up.

It's fun at the start and as your progress with the game's "story" (as it being a life simulation game, the story is as you make it), you will unlock more shops and eventually two Miis will get married.

The game starts with you feeding your Mii and then introducing another Mii to your island for your Mii to be friends with. When you start the game for the first time, you can name your island and make a mii of yourself. When you open the game you will see an overview of the island.
